e-Safety Treat

Today, we were lucky enough to be visited by a theatre company, who came in to talk to us about e-safety. This is all about staying safe whilst on the Internet. We had fun and learned lots.

Internet Superheroes

Internet Superheroes

We were trained to become Internet superheroes - helping others to stay safe online. We had to think about our personal information online. Which information would you share? Which did you want to keep private? We agreed to never:

  • Give out personal details such as where we live
  • Never speak to a stranger, they could pretend to be your age, when in fact they're not!
  • Keep problems to yourself - always speak to a responsible adult

Flag/Blocking

Flag/Blocking

We also learned, whilst online, you can flag or block someone if they are causing you problems. Game websites, such as Minecraft, are required to have these to keep you safe. The person being blocked will never know who blocked them.

Pop ups

Pop ups

Pop ups are little adverts that come up, sometimes offering free things, such as games, holidays or even fake friend requests. Usually, these are not safe websites and could potentially harm your computer. We were told to close them down and never click on them.
